Empowering Students through Personalized College Admissions Consulting: The Lagemann College Consulting Story

A Deeper Look Into Suzanne Lagemann's Journey in the Higher Education Sector

Meet Suzanne Lagemann, a seasoned professional in the higher education sector and the proud owner of Lagemann College Consulting. With years of experience under her belt, Suzanne has been fueling the dreams and aspirations of students across the country, offering personalized guidance throughout the complex college admissions process.

Her journey began in the 1990s when she held various positions within higher education, ranging from admissions and student affairs to academic advising and teaching. She traveled across the country, visiting campuses and gathering invaluable knowledge which would later serve as the foundation for her business. "I started giving advice to friends when their oldest children started the college admissions process. I soon realized that I could turn it into a consulting business," recalls Suzanne.

In 2014, Suzanne established Lagemann College Consulting while still teaching at Montclair State University. Since then, the business has grown by leaps and bounds, particularly since 2018. Offering a boutique experience, Suzanne prides herself on the close relationships she builds with each of her students, providing quality time and attentive listening that larger counseling offices often lack.

Suzanne Lagemann, the heart, and soul behind Lagemann College Consulting

Comprehensive College Admissions Guidance

Suzanne offers a range of comprehensive counseling services that cover every aspect of the college admissions process. These include guidance on college list creation, essay writing, application completion, and standardized test advice. However, it's not just about academics. Suzanne also provides much-needed moral and emotional support to her students, helping them deal with stress, anxiety, and depression caused by the pressures of today's world.

Her approach is especially important in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, as she empowers her students to develop the emotional skills needed for college and beyond. Suzanne also provides pro bono work for first-gen underserved students each year, showcasing her commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in education.

Community Involvement and Future Goals

Aside from her business, Suzanne actively engages with her community, offering free college admissions advice at her local public library. She also maintains strong relationships with her past students, often attending their extracurricular activities and staying in touch with them after they matriculate in college.

Suzanne attributes her approach to consulting to her former colleague at New York University, Kyle Cunningham, who sadly passed away in 2016. She also holds great admiration for the late Pat Summitt, the women’s basketball coach at the University of Tennessee, from whom she draws strength and inspiration.

As for the future, Suzanne aims to continue expanding her business. "My biggest challenge is growing my business. My reputation speaks for itself therefore, I hired a social media consultant who has been a game changer for me! It’s great!" she enthuses. With her dedication and passion, it's clear that Suzanne's impact on the higher education sector will continue to grow in the coming years.
